HR6 Humidifier

The HR6 humidifier is our most reliable and robust model. Designed and manufactured by Wacota, it automatically keeps humidity at 70% with its hygrostat. It operates through a silent and precise ultrasonic nebulizer, with a double back ventilation system that distributes humidity evenly. It includes a digital display and two LED warning lights (low water and operation). The perfect solution for large-capacity humidors.

FAQ humidification

Do you have questions about humidification or humidity systems? Here are the answers:

Both systems work effectively to maintain the right humidity levels. However, natural humidification is best suited for smaller humidors. For larger humidors or cigar cabinets, the electronic system is faster and more efficient, as it generates and distributes humidity evenly throughout the interior.
A humidity level of around 70% is ideal for cigar preservation. At this value, cigars neither dry out nor become overly moist, maintaining about 14% of their own moisture content. Keeping cigars at this level also ensures an even burn and a smooth smoking experience.
If humidity exceeds 80%, cigars will absorb too much moisture, which can lead to mold or even decay. They will also be harder to light and produce a heavier, more acidic taste.
On the other hand, if humidity drops below 70%, cigars may dry out and crack, burning too quickly and losing flavor. Over time, lack of humidity can cause permanent loss of aroma and quality.
For humidors with natural humidification, moisten the sponge with distilled water. The sponge will release humidity gradually, while the cedar wood absorbs part of it. Monitor the hygrometer until you reach the ideal level of 70%.
You may need to re-moisten the sponge several times, or remove it temporarily if humidity rises too much. The local climate plays a key role: in coastal or humid areas, it’s advisable to keep humidity slightly below 70%, while in dry or cold regions it can be set slightly higher.

For electronic systems, the principle is the same: fill the water tank with distilled water and set the desired humidity level. Regularly check and adjust the settings according to ambient conditions.

The humidifier is the device responsible for generating and maintaining humidity inside the humidor. It is usually electronic and automatically produces water vapor in a gradual, controlled way. Depending on the internal humidity level, the device will start or stop emitting vapor to maintain the programmed value.
A hygrometer (or hygrograph) measures air humidity. In humidors, it indicates whether the internal humidity is at the correct level. It helps determine when to moisten the sponge (for natural humidification) or refill the water tank (for electronic systems).
There are different types of hygrometers: hair-type (reacting to humidity by curling), absorption-based (using hygroscopic chemical substances), and electronic (operating with electrodes and sensors).
A hygrostat is a device that measures and regulates air humidity in a closed space. Our HR6 electronic humidification system includes a hygrostat that allows you to set the desired humidity, typically 70%. When it detects any variation, it automatically activates or stops the nebulizer to maintain a stable and consistent level of humidity.
